Less Trying, More Fun
I was going to "try" to write this letter earlier… but instead, I went out and lived a little. My husband and I spent the weekend out of town, soaking up sunshine at the ballfields, cheering on our favorite softball teams and enjoying every minute watching our son do his thing as a play-by-play broadcaster. Surrounded by friends, family and fresh air, it reminded me how good it feels to be outside, not cooped up or rushing, just enjoying the moment. Somewhere along the way, many of us forget that having fun is essential, a message that really comes to life in Rediscovering Fun [at my-NA.com].
That feeling stuck with me as I read this month’s Strong, Centered and Whole: Women That Inspire Us To Thrive [page 16], especially the idea that thriving comes from “small, consistent investments.” It made me realize those joyful, outdoor moments actually count; they help keep us grounded, energized and connected. And then came the gentle nudge from Stop Trying and Start Doing [page 24], with the reminder that “trying is like keeping your brain in neutral.” It’s so easy to say we’ll get to things eventually, but sometimes the best thing we can do is simply jump in and start.
For me, that might mean paying more attention to how I support my body with insights from Pelvic Power: Restoring Strength, Function and Confidence [page 26], or even experimenting in the kitchen with ideas from More Than Soup: Lentils as a Modern Wellness Staple [page 20]. It’s less about getting it right or perfect, and more about just getting started.

Turns out, not trying to write this letter right away may have been exactly what I needed—because getting out, having fun and being present was the perfect reminder that sometimes the best thing we can do… is simply do.
See you out there,
