At the top of Bell Rock, I sat cross-legged in the sun, eyes closed, letting the high desert breeze and that legendary Sedona vortex energy swirl around me. The stillness buzzed. The view was breathtaking. That trip—complete with trail hikes, coyote sightings, a Grand Canyon rainbow, and one incredibly grounding energy treatment—was more than a getaway; it was a full-system reset. As Kari Leibowitz reminds us in The Burnout Reset: Whole-Body Recovery for the Season Ahead [page 14], “Winter is an invitation to slow down.”

Since getting back, I’ve been carving out time most mornings to meditate, with birds singing and pool water flowing in the background. It’s not Sedona, but it’s a solid substitute—and a peaceful way to stay centered before the day takes off. That trip reminded me how much better I feel when I make time to reset. So this Thanksgiving, I’m taking it one step further: no cooking. We’re traveling instead—a great way to skip the stress and embrace ease. If you’re looking for simple ways to do the same, Honoring the Earth and Each Other [page 13] offers thoughtful ideas for celebrating more consciously, from shopping local to decorating with nature.

The dry air and elevation were an adjustment for this Florida girl. I had to stay on top of hydration and slow my pace—but it turned out to be exactly what I needed. Tired but Wired: Rebalancing the Cortisol-Sleep Cycle[page 24] explains how stress and disrupted sleep can throw our energy off. After getting home, I slept soundly—and all night long.

This month’s issue is full of ways to support your energy, body, and rhythm. Balancing Act: Blood Sugar Stability for Better Health and Mood [page 18] shares tips to keep energy steady with smart food choices and herbs. Tools for Fitness Recovery: Modalities That Prioritize the Mind-Body Connection [page 22] explores holistic modalities to restore the body after exertion. Start Strong: Morning Rituals for Energized Kids [page 26] helps families create calm, connected mornings.

I hope these pages offer inspiration for your own reset—whether it’s a morning ritual, a stress-free holiday, or simply a moment of quiet to soak it all in.
