Natural Awakenings Space & Treasure Coast Florida

Celebrating 15 Years with New Growth!

I love the idea of a vegetable garden. We planted one when my boys were young and it was a great family project. In our feature article, Eco Yards, Dave Whitinger, executive director of the National Gardening Association shares that “According to GardenResearch.com, 30 million U.S. households, about 25 percent, participated in vegetable gardening in 2015.” Over the years, I have come to terms with the fact that my thumb isn’t green. Not even a hint of that chlorophyll shade. My husband even bought me “indestructible plants” one year as a gift. He reasoned that if it said indestructible on the label, even I could keep it alive. Well he wasn’t completely wrong, it lasted about 2 years, which for me is a record. However, I would love to have home-grown food. I just need an automated garden to grow my vegetables!

This month commemorates our 15th year publishing the Brevard and Indian River edition of Natural Awakenings magazine. We are so grateful to be part of this vibrant natural health community. It has truly been an honor to participate in this national project that brings people together to facilitate healthy choices and options for care. I am excited to announce we are growing this edition of Natural Awakenings! Starting in May, we will be the Space and Treasure Coast edition covering all of Brevard, Indian River, Martin and St. Lucie counties.
