Go Organic for Healthy Kids

Can you remember being stung by mosquitoes or bitten by no-see-ums? Can you remember the irritation and agitation you felt? The effect of pesticides and herbicides on your child’s central nervous system is a similar experience. Thousands of little cells in your child’s body feel as though they are being swarmed upon and the result is an agitated, irritated child. We would never allow our children to come into contact with anything that comes in a container that said "Keep out of reach of children," yet we allow them to eat fruits and vegetables that have come into contact with the contents of those containers.

In the 1990’s the U.S. alone used 4.5 billion pounds of pesticide each year. Presently more than 20% of the pesticides registered in the U.S. are linked to cancer, birth defects, developmental harm or Central Nervous System Damage.

The Environmental Working Group says that 1 million U. S. Children under age 5 consume unsafe levels of pesticides known to harm their developing brains and nervous systems every day. The most likely foods to contain these toxins are peaches, apples, nectarines, popcorn and pears. In baby foods it’s pears, peaches, and apple juice.

In addition to limiting our risks of these diseases, a research study showed that a 100% organic diet resulted in a dramatic reversal of ADD and ADHD symptoms in 50% of the cases in both adults and children. Not surprising since most pesticides and herbicides are neurotoxins.

Children have increased risk because their food and water intake in proportion to their size and weight increases their exposure to toxins. According to the EPA childhood cancer rates increased 10.8 % from 1973 to 1990.

Because their bodies are smaller and their organs are not fully developed children are more susceptible to these neurotoxins. The elderly are often next in line due to weakened immune systems and a decline in organ function.

Our children know what’s best for their bodies, until we teach them differently. By choosing to go organic you will give your child the gift of health and simplify your life. Go organic and feel the vibrancy it brings to your life and the peace it brings to your child.
