MyoAir Supports Healthy Oral Function and Breathing Patterns
MyoAir provides individualized in-person and telehealth orofacial myofunctional therapy designed to improve oral muscle function and support healthy breathing patterns.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist Joann Amoroso, RDH, MAS, QOM, COM, evaluates the function and coordination of the tongue, lips, jaw and facial muscles, then develops personalized therapy programs focused on nasal breathing, proper tongue resting posture, lip seal, and healthy chewing and swallowing patterns.
The practice works with children and adults experiencing functional concerns such as mouth breathing, tongue thrust, snoring, grinding and clenching, swallowing difficulties, and oral habits including thumb or finger sucking. Therapy incorporates targeted neuromuscular exercises and behavior-modification techniques to help retrain oral resting posture and functional movement patterns.
“Our goal is to help patients develop healthier oral habits and improve the way the muscles of the mouth and face work together,” says Amoroso.
MyoAir also provides pre- and post-frenectomy therapy to support tongue mobility, oral function and appropriate muscle patterns before and after a procedure. Both in-person and telehealth therapy options are available, along with complimentary 15-minute phone consultations.
