Anthony Profeta’s new book Radical Love: The Revolutionary Spirituality of Francis of Assisi reached #1 in three Amazon bestseller categories on its September 1 release day. The book also earned #1 New Release status in two additional categories and stayed at the top for nearly a week.

Radical Love explores the life and spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi and asks what his example can still teach people today. The timing is especially meaningful because 2026 marks the 800th anniversary of his death. Rather than focusing on the familiar image of Francis as the gentle saint of birds and animals the book examines the more courageous and challenging spirituality he lived through simplicity, mercy, peace, service, fearlessness and a radical commitment to love.
