Unity of Fort Pierce is hosting a Father’s Day cookout and book sale on June 21 at 11 a.m. This celebration is designed to bring the community together through fellowship, food and reading. The event features a book sale where guests are encouraged to bring $10 and an empty bag to fill with “new to you” books.

Rev. Janice Cary says the gathering encourages connection while giving books a second life. “We are excited to welcome our community for a joyful afternoon of food, stories and friendship,” says Rev. Cary. Genres include fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, children’s books, cookbooks and young adult and spiritual books.

The church is currently collecting books in advance of this event. Those with gently used books to donate are encouraged to contact the office to arrange a drop-off time.
