Cornhole Tournament Supports Domestic Violence Survivors
Serene Harbor presents its Cornhole Challenge for Change on Sunday, March 22 at the Melbourne Auditorium. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and games start at 11 a.m. The fundraiser brings the community together for friendly competition while supporting services for survivors of domestic violence. “This tournament promises to be a whole lot of fun while supporting our goal to end the cycle of domestic violence,” says President and CEO Beverly DeMeyer. DeMeyer notes that every dollar raised supports emergency shelter and advocacy programs. “As you enjoy contests, prizes and raffles, you'll also be making a difference in the lives of survivors. Every dollar raised at this event will go towards raising awareness and providing crucial support services for those affected by domestic violence,” she says.
Serene Harbor has served Brevard County for over 30 years, providing emergency shelter, a 24/7 confidential hotline (321-726-8282), counseling services, transportation, relocation assistance, support groups, legal advocacy, outreach programs, referrals, and assistance programs to survivors of domestic violence.
Cost: $25 per person for teams of two to four and $5 for spectators. For more information call 321-537-2544 or visit SereneHarbor.org/Events. Melbourne Auditorium is located at 625 E. Hibiscus Ave.
