Mama Jo's Sunshine Herbals is taking a pause from offering its annual Fundamentals of Herbalism Certification Course this spring. Founder Joanna Helms, BA, RH (AHG), a registered herbalist with more than 30 years of experience, is stepping back from teaching this year to focus on community connections, family life, and continuing her work at the apothecary. While classes are on hold, Helms remains fully present to support clients through herbal guidance and custom formulations.

“Though I won’t be teaching this season, I’m still here to help guide herbal journeys,” says Helms. “I’m using this time to recenter, so I can continue to support our community with clarity and care.” Whether it’s a custom tincture, tea blend, or herbal recommendation, Helms continues to formulate products and provide expert insights to walk-in clients.

The Indian Harbour Beach shop features organic herbs, tinctures, essential oils, teas, bath products, handmade soaps, and more—all crafted onsite in the GMP-compliant apothecary.
