Down to Earth Yoga Announces New Ownership
Down to Earth Yoga is pleased to announce new owners Adam Flores and Dhyana Houghtaling. Their vision for Down to Earth Yoga is to expand their client-focused model to include community-focused initiatives. “Our philosophy is simple: Do good and be good,” says Houghtaling. “We need a community to help us fulfill this philosophy.”
According to Flores, “Yoga has been over simplified and broken down to an exercise, and the deeper roots of self-healing have been lost.” Yoga’s incorporation of meditation and breathing can help improve a person’s mental well-being. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness, increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress patterns, relaxes the mind, centers attention, and sharpens concentration. “This is a science of the mind which effects our body. It is easier to heal the mind/body through the physical practice of yoga,” says Flores.
Down to Earth Yoga has added a new class, Ashtanga Yoga: 8 Limb Practice, led by Ilicia Koslow on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. This 75-minute foundational practice is open to all levels from beginners to advanced.
