Local Free Clinic Provides World-Class Care

Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) Clinic is a free medical clinic located in Stuart. Since 1995 the clinic has been providing high quality healthcare to Martin County residents who do not have insurance or the ability to pay for care.

“VIM Clinic’s patients are the fabric of the community like the people who serve our coffee, take care of our children and elderly, deliver our groceries, and mow our lawns,” says Mary Fields, Executive Director.

The Clinic has a small staff, but it is supported by hundreds of local volunteer medical professionals. Some volunteers treat VIM patients at the clinic, while others see patients at their own practice. “The volunteers are some of the finest providers in the industry, with many recognized globally in their specialties,” explains Fields. “Beyond fantastic healthcare, patients also receive assistance with mental health counseling, medications, and support to obtain other needs like housing, food, and employment.”

Patients do not need to be sick or have any health issues, VIM Clinic also encourages eligible adults to sign up for free preventive care.

Adults residing in Martin County that are struggling to pay for health care can visit VIMClinic.net or call 772-463-4128 to learn about becoming a patient.
