A-Live & Healthy Café Now Open

A-Live & Healthy Café is now open in Merritt Island. After a 5-year intermission, raw food chef, and vegan advocate, Kim Smith and her partner Rich Williams have found the location they’ve been looking for and re-opened the popular, raw, vegan restaurant in the Home Depot plaza on Courtenay Parkway.

“At A-Live & Healthy Café, the meals are 100% vegan, gluten and dairy free, prepared with fresh organic produce, nuts and seeds, and, of course, love,” says Smith. “The Reuben and the pumpkin pie are customer favorites. Vegan or carnivore you’ll love the food.” Fresh organic produce is delivered twice weekly. Customers can bring bags and do their produce shopping while visiting.

This Fall Alive & Healthy will enjoy expanded hours and new garden seating. They also plan to offer food preparation classes, as well as group detox programs and juice fasts geared to giving the individual a fresh start on a healthier lifestyle.

While on intermission, Smith and Williams focused on making Healthy Planet of Brevard (HPoB), a local vegan organization, a household name. “Being vegan gives us lots of energy to spend sharing the vegan message and we are always happy to share our knowledge and experiences.” On October 11, HPoB will host Space Coast Veg-fest in Riverfront Park, Cocoa Village.

A-Live & Healthy Café is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with dinner on Friday’s till 8 p.m. 85 E. Merritt Ave., Merritt Island, between Home Depot and Bikram Yoga. 321-338-2926, A-LiveandHealthy.com.
