Serene Harbor’s vision is a community that is educated about and welcoming to victims of domestic violence and their needs. The mission is to reduce the incidence of domestic violence in Brevard County through intervention, prevention, social change, education and the engagement of the community.
The certified domestic violence center houses women, children and now their pets so that women do not have to choose between coming into the shelter and leaving a pet behind. The center is now able to accommodate pets immediately so they are not left in an unsafe environment.
Serene Harbor also works with men on an outreach basis and provides them a full continuum of services.
