Mildred Shelton, R.N announces the opening of Be Prepared, her new infection instruction and consulting business. According to Shelton, increased infection rates are a problem not only in health care settings, but also in our office buildings, restaurants, schools, day cares, sporting events, and any area where people gather in large or small venues.

“This is why I started my infection prevention company,” says Shelton. “In the many years of my nursing career, I have observed this very thing.” The breakdown in the infection control chain on a daily basis in and out of the healthcare realm is what Shelton is working to restore. Her program is geared towards everyone at any age, job or profession. “Through education, I can help employers and their employees control the spread of infectious illnesses and disease with basic practices and techniques, as well as bacteria and virus detection principles, which can help to prevent the infection illness merry-go-round, which leads to an increase in work place absenteeism,” says Shelton.
