Sherryl Vida, LMHC of Beachside Mediation Services recently attended a conference of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts where several new initiatives were presented. 

“One of the best ideas I saw was a documentary film titled ‘Split,’ produced by Ellen Bruno,” states Vida. “This film, made in collaboration with children ages 6 to 12, explores the often frightening and always life-altering separation of their parents. Split is made exclusively from the view of the children—no adults, no experts—just kids speaking their powerful truth about what is on their minds and in their hearts as their families change.”

Vida added that she will be incorporating this film into her future work with families who are moving through the divorce process and recovery.
