“Release Your Jaw” Workshop in Melbourne
Jun 25, 2013 06:18PM
Bonnie Kissam, M.A., Feldenkrais® Practitioner since 1983, is presenting a weekend workshop entitled Release Your Jaw on July 26-28. She uses unique Feldenkrais’ Awareness Through Movement lessons that focus on the face, eyes, skull and breathing to quiet deep-seated muscular holding patterns – even in the jaw.
The Feldenkrais Method encourages learning about and believing in the ability for the brain to change itself. “Instead of fixing or correcting, the focus is on learning and becoming more aware of old muscular holding patterns – such as clenching your teeth - and ways to quiet old patterns and discover more efficient ways of sitting, standing or moving,” says Kissam. “The Feldenkrais Method offers not only a way to relax old habits but, through ‘awareness’ release even unconscious patterns such as tight jaws. The challenge is to take the time to discover the many variations and strategies that are possible.”
The workshop will be held at the Connectivity Center on Sarno Road in Melbourne. For more information call 321-253-8088 or visit ConnectivityMovement.com.
