Canaveral Seashore Paint Out: Six-Day Fundraiser

Outdoor enthusiasts and art lovers can come together at the second annual Canaveral Seashore Paint Out at the Canaveral National Seashore in New Smyrna Beach, October 24 through 29.

Hosted by the Friends of Canaveral and the National Park Service, the popular event will raise funds for the children’s Environmental Learning Pavilion now under construction in the park.

All week, landscape artists from Florida, Massachusetts, and Maine will be creating one-of-a-kind plein air (open air) paintings in the Apollo north district of Canaveral National Seashore. They invite everyone to stroll, watch, and purchase an original painting “wet off the canvas” as they document the pristine landscape.

Throughout the six-day event there will be many opportunities to enjoy the event. Each day, a different artist will present a free demo, at various locations in the park or downtown. The public is invited to "watch and learn" as the artists demonstrate their expertise in various mediums.

All works created during the Paint Out will be for sale immediately at Eldora State House and on Thursday and Friday at a downtown gallery on Canal Street.

Enjoy the artwork at special sponsored or ticketed evening events: “Meet the Artists” reception on October 26 at 7pm, at Arts on Douglas in New Smyrna; “Sunset Paint Out” on October 27 at JB's Fish Camp in New Smyrna Beach; and The Patrons Gala on October 29 at Eldora State House.
