Coordinated by the Waterway Warriors, the removal of 100+ tires that have been dumped near the Banana River Aquatic Preserve aka "Tire Island" is scheduled for April 12 8am-1pm. This coordinated venture with members of the community, Xplore The IRL, Gator Dredging, Cocoa Beach Public Works, SOIRL and volunteers will significantly impact the health of the water in that area. The remote location of Tire Island can only be accessed by boat.
