Cancer Support Group: Cognitive Effects of Cancer Treatment
plus Q&A with psychologists
At the September support group, Dr. Lindsay Eatman, Psy. D. and Dr. Joseph Walden, Psy.D., psychologists with Baytree Behavioral Health, will be our guest speakers. They will be presenting on cognition and neuropsychology relating to cancer treatment, provide stress management tips, and be available for an open discussion Q&A about these topics and other questions about psychology.
Cancer patients, survivors and caregivers benefit from the support of others with similar cancer experiences. Facilitated by a cancer survivor and social worker each month (second Friday), our general cancer support and open discussion groups are for cancer patients/survivors in any phase of treatment or recovery. Caregivers are welcome as well. Even though you may receive support from friends and family, joining a support group provides you with an opportunity to be with people who are likely to provide you with a profound understanding of what you are going through, because they have similar feelings, worries, everyday problems, treatment decisions, or treatment side effects. Some months feature a guest speaker on cancer/health related topics or complementary therapies.
This monthly support group is hosted by Complementary Cancer Care, a 501(c)3 nonprofit providing compassionate and complementary non-medical services that improve total quality of life during treatment and beyond. We offer the tools to connect, support, educate, and empower cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers on their journey to healing.
