Unity of Fort Pierce Jazz Concert
On Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m., Unity of Fort Pierce will host the Brazilian Coffee House Concert with jazz guitarist, composer and vocalist, Phill Fest. Singer Silvia Brasil and pianist Robert Steinberg will also appear.
“Fest, often described as a natural talent, and winner of Best Jazz Artist at the Bay Area Music Awards, makes his performances fun and exciting,” says Reverend Janice Cary. “His father is a recording artist and his mother is a composer and music instructor, so Fest was exposed to Brazilian and American Jazz right from the start.”
"I remember hangin' with Sergio Mendez backstage many times as a kid," says Fest. His father, Manfredo, was the Keyboardist and Music Director for Bossa Rio, the opening act for Brasil '66 for three years.
For tickets call 772-461-2272. Cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Refreshments will be available. Listen to a sample at youtu.be/FPodTQli0Xg.
