Gentle yet Effective Help for Allergy Symptoms with CranioSacral Therapy

Allergy symptoms can occur any time of year. Mold, dander, grass or food can create physical irritation and immune system stress. To add fuel to the "allergy fire," the pollen count becomes very high in the spring and fall. This can even cause some people that don't normally have allergies to sniff, sneeze, wheeze, and experience itchy eyes or mild headaches.

Sinus allergies cause inflammation of the lining which blocks mucus from draining. This can cause an infection, more severe pain and pressure. Once at this point, it may turn into sinusitis, which involves thick, colored mucus, a swollen feeling in your face, cough, sore throat, fatigue, light fever.

CranioSacral Therapy uses gentle manipulation of the cranial bones to access membranes and tissues of the head. Releasing tension patterns and trauma, as well as clearing the drainage paths through the neck and chest, promotes opening of the sinuses allowing mucus to drain and cranial pressure to balance. CranioSacral also reduces fever, stimulates immune function and balances the nervous system.

During this heightened allergy season, CranioSacral Therapy can help sufferers leave a therapy room with their sinuses clearer, coughing subdued, decreased head pain, and a feeling of renewal and relaxation.
