Being Mindful of a Healthy Heart



Hey Siri, what is the weather like today?” Each morning I check in with my digital helper to help me plan my morning walk. I have to admit, I’ve been skipping this morning ritual a little too often. Walking in the colder temperatures is tough for this Florida girl. As a publisher of a natural health publication, you would think that exercise, a foundation for healthy living, would be second nature. However, I have fallen off and climbed back on my exercise wagon many times over the years. Like most women I know, there is always a reason: the kids need something, work deadlines are looming, or I just need to do one more household task.

In our feature article, Heart of a Woman, integrative cardiologists share that exercising five to six days per week for at least 30 minutes and practicing activities like mindfulness meditation or yoga have been shown to lower heart rates.
