Port St. Lucie’s Parks & Recreation Award Winning Healthy U: A Series of Conversations

Healthy U is a series of conversations, held monthly, that bring together the community and local health care professionals to discuss various topics. Presented by the City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreations Department, all sessions are free, and available in-person for the first 50 registered. Each session will be available via Zoom and open to anyone interested in learning more on each topic. Health professionals, nurses, care givers, family members and those seeking guidance and support when dealing with the challenges we face in life are all welcome to attend.

Offered at 6:30 p.m., the upcoming session of Healthy U will be held on Wednesday, February 2, where the topic is Domestic Violence. Identify the signs, understand the importance of safety planning and come learn about community resources to aid those experiencing either Domestic Violence themselves or who have a loved one who needs help.

Next in the series of conversations will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. on Downs Syndrome. Participants will learn to dispel common myths about Downs Syndrome, challenges of the physical condition, and how to celebrate the person, not the disability.
