Qi-Gong Master Comes to Florida

Herbal Wisdom Society Adopts Local Park

The Herbal Wisdom Society has adopted the Oars & Paddles Park in Indian Harbour Beach. Their goal is to re-vegetate and augment the current plantings in the park with native Florida trees, shrubs, plants, grasses and herbs. "We are excited that our proposal has been accepted and we will be working with the Brevard County Parks Department to implement our plans which ultimately include a delightful herb walk," says Laura Fadden, Secretary.

This is truly a ‘grass roots’ project. "At this time we have completed our first phase of plantings, which was funded by membership dues. In order to move forward we need to obtain additional funding to purchase the tools, plants and bedding materials," explains Laura. "We currently have a grant application in the works and fundraising plans but we also need the support of local businesses and individuals to make our project a success."

Adult ADHD Workshop in Melbourne

ADHD coach Gregory Young explains that many studies by Harvard medical, the World Health Organization, and others continually show that ADHD is not always outgrown as previously thought. Approximately 50 percent boys and girls with ADHD, starting around age 7, carry it throughout their lives. In-depth studies further show that approximately 85 percent of these adults are undiagnosed. Coach Greg states that the problem is that most of the information, publicly available, centers only on children and parenting children with ADHD. Many adults/parents recognize themselves when a child is diagnosed. The parent finds that they have had the same symptoms since their childhood and learn that there is a genetic factor to ADHD.

In a 2 hour educational seminar titled "Understanding Adult ADHD", ADHD Coach Gregory Young and psychologist Dr. Wende Anderson explain what adult ADHD is, its symptoms, effects upon daily life – work - and relationships, proper testing, treatments, and ways of overcoming and controlling the recurring problems ADHD creates.
