"I have an idea to keep dieters motivated," pondered my sister Laurie with us in mind. "If you take a photo of yourself on a weekly basis, you’ll see what you really look like!" We laughed. Then she pointed out tip number 2, "Always wear jeans or non-stretchy pants." Yep, that is a good constant reminder – an unyielding band at the belly to prevent unnecessary expansion. Keeping fit and eating healthy can be a full-time job. It was so easy when we were younger and the body was adaptable. Now with things "slowing down" it seems as if everything is less forgiving. That dark chocolate splurge and missed exercise time always seems to catch up with me.

"Whether the issue is aging or acne, many recent studies indicate that nutrition really does matter," explains Alan Logan, naturopathic doctor, in our Conscious Eating column on page 32. Repairing the signs of aging is definitely a persuasive argument for eating healthy. With the holidays in sight, eating right can be difficult. Holiday treats are everywhere and the temptation to overindulge in annual favorites can be overwhelming. To help we’ve included some tips on page 17. The truth is I love vibrant and healthy meals, especially when they are prepared for me! But just to be safe, I think I might heed Laurie’s advice and keep a photo taped to my fridge!

To help lighten your busy schedule this holiday season we have gathered a list of naturally perfect gifts.
