February 2010 Letter
It’s official. I love Facebook. I started spending time with online social networking to build a Natural Awakenings fan page, our own social network, and to create a place where readers could connect online. In the process I’ve found old friends, neighbors, family, and colleagues; some of them I haven’t talked to in decades! It is much more fun than I expected. I enjoy reading the snippets from their lives and chiming in on fun threads of conversation. From the weather to book recommendations, videos to the birth of a child – it is all good fun and keeps us connected.
Our new online network, www.myNANetwork.com is a bit like a mini-Facebook. It is an online community for Natural Awakenings’ readers to connect, upload photos, videos, share healthy events, start discussion groups on natural topics, and enjoy online exclusive articles fresh from Natural Awakenings. I invite you to join us online and share the fun. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s free.
Fun is the theme this month and I love this issue! Natural Awakenings is known for its quality editorial with a positive and uplifting tone and this month is truly our most light-hearted issue ever. In our Conscious Eating column shares "Foods That Make Us Smile." Erma Bombeck reminds us, "Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert cart." So with Erma’s reassurance feel free to try the fabulous dessert recipes. On page 20 discover Canine Humor and find out if dogs smile and which dogs are the most playful. Then on page 26, try our Yoga Laughter Exercises and truly enjoy your workout. I hope this issue brings you joy and gives you a light-hearted break for today.
Here’s to more laughter!
