Strategies to Remain Calm Amidst Chaos
Dr. Christina Gilman is pleased to offer guidance, inspiration and strategies to keep you balanced and calm, even in times of extreme stress and chaos.
“When fear grips; When everyone around you is panicking; Can you remain clearheaded and calm?” says Dr. Gilman. “Do you yell back when someone is screaming at you? Or do you stuff your anger, worry and fear into your body, or even turn to addictions to soothe and distract you?”
Dr. Gilman, known as “Dr. Chris” to her clients, inspires her clients to change their reactions to be more effective and positive. “You can learn to change the way you handle or react to stress and remain calm in crisis. Whether it’s the oncoming hurricane, cancer diagnosis, fight with your loved ones, serious loss or just everyday life. Our career, our families and all of our relationships relate to our state of mind.”
Dr. Gilman uses a variety of strategies including meditation, breathing methods, mindfulness, visualization, systematic desensitization, journaling and EFT/Tapping.
She earned a Doctor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University and worked as a Counseling Psychologist. She taught master’s degree students behavioral counseling skills at Boston University, Psychology at Montclair State University in New Jersey and Personal Growth Skills at two community colleges.
